Flexibility / Health Precautions
In an effort to keep myself, my family, and my clients safe I am implementing a Flexibility Safeguard. If on the days leading up to your sesison anyone in your family feels sick (or comes in contact with someone known to be sick), we can shuffle things around with no hassle.
If Yosemite National Park's restrictions change, or our planned loaction becomes unavailable, or is deemed unsafe, I will offer clear communication and work on an alternative location for the sesison.
I'm doing my best to stay well so I can offer these sessions safely and in good faith my clients will do the same. We'll be outside for the entirety of the session, masks are not required for clients, though they may be required by facilities within Yosemite National Park.
If you have specific requests or ways I can make this a more comfortable experience please let me know.
What should I expect?
Nothing to be nervous about, my goal is for this to be as comfortable an experience as possible for you & yours. A laid back 60-90 minutes of shooting yeilding 50 finished images.
I view my sessions as a creative collaboration and exploration of the present moment. It's not about coming together to pose for photos, but rather a time you set aside to be with your loved one(s) and be seen as you are. If children are present I will let them set the pace and give them time to gain my trust before asking too much of them. I've been photographing folks for 10 years and I've learned how to direct my subjects throughout the session while still allowing for your natrual self to shine through.
Once you have booked your session, you'll recevie details on meeting point and directions. When we're done, you'll be free to enjoy the park for the rest of the day. Here's a sample gallery if you'd like to see a previous session.
how much does this cost?
This session is $525. A depsoit of $99 secures your booking and the remaining balance of $426 is due on the day of your session. Installments are available by request. Special pricing availble for Single Parent families.
Yosemite National Park has an enterance fee of $35/vehicle, your pass is valid for 7 days after entry if you'd like to stick around or make another trip back up.
In the event Yosemite National Park requires reservations for entry, (as they have sporadically throughout the pandemic) your reservation will be secured and paid for by Marilyn Days Photography. As of now, there are no reservation requirements for the dates of these sessions. I'll connect with you if these details change.
Where will we be taking photos?
Yosemite Valley Chapel will be our meeting point, which is about 20 minutes inside the park once you've gone through the entrance. I will be texting you a direct pin location to your phone so you can naviagte directly there.
What should I wear?
My only rule is to wear something you're comfortable in, if you feel like yourself in it, it's the right choice.
If you need more direction: Solid colors work wonderful, if you're totally stumped try putting everyone in their own solid color and see if the colors look nice togehter. I reccomend staying away from bright patterns and obvious logos or words on clothing.
Pro tip: Keep an eye on the weather forecast in Yosemite Valley to guage the climate.
Should I bring anything?
No need to pack heavy, if you'd like to bring a blanket to sit on or a snack to share you're welcome to. Otherwise all you need to do is show up and I'll take it from there!
How many photos will I recieve and when should I expect them?
You'll receive many finished images in your final gallery. Your session includes 50 finshed images of your choice. All images are uploaded to a private digital gallery where you can make image selections and purchase additional images. You'll have options for ordering prints shipped directly to you, or you can download at full resolution for safe keeping/ printing on your own.
You can expect your gallery 3 weeks after your session date.
